Sorry, I insist that if that awful song is stuck in my head, it must be stuck in yours too! I decided to list my favorite records of 2004. Why would you care what I listen to, you might be asking? Well, I don’t know. I listen to a lot of music and most of it is influenced by the boys in the basement. The Swiss Army know what they are talking about. Perhaps not at all coincidentally, I agree with you on almost every count– I did get tired of the Interpol CD a lot more quickly than you did. And Loretta Lynn was good, but a lot of her songs got too corny too quickly.
What about Calexico? Was that this year?

The Calexico album ‘Feast of Wire’ is great, but it’s from 2003. And I definitely like Interpol more than you do I know. But they are so good!
