I may have to copy my friend/co-worker Jess and create a book page. I want to do the 50 book challenge, which should not be too hard. And since I seem to be doing these days is knitting and reading, why not devote a whole page to all this stuff. I finished David Shipler’s Working Poor today at lunch. Wow. There will be a review in NYT this week I believe, but everyone should read this book. It was eye-opening, even for someone who considers herself pretty liberal and attuned to world. Its just not fair, life, sometimes. And I don’t know what to do about it. The book doesn’t answer that question. It proposes no easy cause or solutions. I managed to slobber soup on my book as I came to the last sentence of the book, “It is time to be ashamed.” And it is hard not to be after reading this book.
